Who are you waiting for?
You wait years, decades even, for someone to come along and give you permission to live the life you really want.
You wait for someone to tell you that you’re smart enough and not too young or too old and that it doesn’t matter how you look or what you weigh and that yes, it’s okay to want more than you currently have and that you do deserve to be happy.
You wrap your arms around your fragile heart in self-protection, forgetting that we’re all a little fragile inside, that it’s not something to be ashamed of.
You expend precious energy pretending to be someone you’re not in order to protect your heart from being hurt – but it hurts anyway.
You stay quiet and small because you don’t want to offend anyone, but someone is always going to be offended. Don’t worry about the ones who don’t love you for who you truly are, because those who do love you deeply for being true to yourself will make your life so much more beautiful.
When you protect your heart, you can’t grow. When you wait for the fear to subside, you can’t grow. And when you can’t grow you’ll wonder why you feel so stuck. You’ll look outwards for answers that are already inside you, until eventually you’ll start to feel like you’ve lost your way. So you sit amongst your confusion and meanwhile time passes you by.
But there will come a time when there won’t be more time. I know you can feel your own power pulsing though your veins and I know that it scares you. Being brave and being true to yourself isn’t always easy, but you can do hard things.
What could be any harder than letting life go by without living and loving with every piece of your heart?
You only ever need permission from yourself.
You are the one you’ve been waiting for.
