Privacy Policy

Your Data & Privacy

Your privacy and the data you volunteer, are managed with thought and respect.

I endeavour to be compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

At Esther Zimmer (hereafter known as I, me, my), I’m committed to maintaining the confidence and trust of visitors to this website.

In particular, I wish to state that I’m not in the business of renting, selling or trading email lists with other businesses, companies, organisations or persons for marketing purposes.

That’s simply not on.

However, aside from using good judgment there is now a legal requirement to provide you with a detailed privacy policy, so you’re clear on when and why I collect your personal information, how I use it and how I keep it secure. That is policy. Please read on…

Types of Data I Collect

Mailing Lists: As part of the registration process for my monthly Love Letter (my newsletter and digest of blog posts), I collect personal information that you have given freely to me (currently limited to your first name and email address). I use that information to send regular updates to you and have always treated your in-box like a sacred space. My Love Letters are about forming a connection; I share personal insights into my life, write about life’s ups and downs and sometimes I share useful resources – and I’ll also occasionally include information about new courses, as and when I offer them.

I don’t and have never rented, sold or traded my email list with any other business, company, organisation or person for marketing or any other purposes.

That’s just downright wrong.

I use a third-party processor, MailChimp, to deliver my newsletter. I gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help me monitor and improve my e-newsletter. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy policy. You can unsubscribe from my newsletter at any time by clicking on the ‘Unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of any of my emails or by emailing me directly at I won’t take it personally, sometimes I even unsubscribe from newsletters I love, simply because I can’t keep up with them all and have a life too. (And having a life is far more important than reading newsletters).

Website Users: I may collect your IP address and information regarding your location and pages accessed. This data is collected and stored in WordPress and Google Analytics. Google Analytics collects standard Internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. This meta-data cannot be used to identify you as an individual. This provides analysis of general website traffic flows, activity and performance.

Your Legal Rights

I fully support the ethos of GDPR, which is designed to keep the ownership of personal data within the control of individuals. This means you have rights in relation to your personal data, including the right to request access, request correction and request erasure of your personal data.

Access to Your Data: You have the right to request a copy of the information I hold about you. If you would like a copy of the personal information I hold, please contact me.

You also have the right to be forgotten, so you can also request the data I hold to be deleted.

Access to Your Personal Information: You will find a link called ‘Update Your Preferences’ at the bottom of all email correspondence I send you. This allows you to update or remove any email related data, instantly.

If you wish to contact me directly, please email me at – I will respond to all legitimate requests within 30 days.

Updates to this Privacy Policy: This policy was updated 1 October 2018.
